Usually we meet outside Costa L2 1TD in Liverpool city centre. In Summer when we have two coaches running we have two meeting points – one at Costa L2 1TD and one nearby at Derby Square L2 1AB. Please check your itinerary which can be downloaded from your confirmation email to see exactly where you should meet for your trip.
We travel by coach (private, comfortable bus) and we travel direct (no pick-ups on the way) in order to maximise the time at our destinations.
Most travel times are between 2-3 hours each way, with an exception for Oxford (4 hours each way) and overnight trips (4-6 hours each way).
All our trips include coach travel, a tour guide (usually 2!) and either a guided walking tour of a city or guided scenic walk of a national park. For our castle trips to Caernarfon (Castles of Wales) and Conwy Castle (Conwy and Llandudno) we include the entrance ticket to the castle worth £10-12. Many other trips also include entrances such as Yorkshire (Bolton Abbey entrance), Snowdonia (Swallow Falls entrance) and Bath and Stonehenge weekend (Stonehenge entrance).
Food and meals are not included on the day trips. You can bring a packed lunch or buy lunch at one of the lovely villages or towns we stop at. A light breakfast, however, is included in the overnight trips to Edinburgh and also Bath & Stonehenge.
For Edinburgh we stay in a top-quality hostel for 4-9 beds with en-suite bathrooms. They are always same sex rooms (male and female divided). You must be over 18 to join the trip to Edinburgh.
For Bath – we stay at the YMCA as this is the best choice for location as it’s based in the city centre. It is a budget hostel with rooms 2-12 people and a shared bathroom (not en-suite). You can request a twin/quad room by contacting us, but it will be first come first served. The best rooms are given to those who book early! Families are welcome on the Bath trip if we have availability for family rooms.
No we visit different places on all the trips we go to.
Snowdonia National Park Day Trip: We take a walk for an hour along a Snowdon mountain path. We go past two stunning lakes and then trek back. We don’t go to the top of Snowdon…only part way. The scenery is stunning! On this trip we then visit the gorgeous village of Betws-y-Coed and Swallow Falls waterfall.
Anglesey and Snowdonia: We take a short walk up to Llyn Idwal (Lake surrounded by mountains). Breath-taking scenery and a shorter walk than the above, more free time for photos and relaxing. We then travel to Beaumaris for a lunch stop, have a photos stop at the menai Bridge before vising the longest place name village of LLanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch!
Both trips are incredible and worth doing!
What’s the difference between York and Yorkshire?
They are completely different trips!
York – this is a city trip. We give a guided walking tour of the historical city then you’ll have free time to explore the streets, shops, museums, parks and cafes.
Yorkshire – this is a countryside trip and we visit the Yorkshire dales National Park. We walk to Malham Cove and up the steps for amazing views! We’ll also visit the town of Skipton and finish the day at Bolton Abbey.
If the coach is full, we can take up to 49 passengers plus 2 tour guides. We usually need a minimum number to run a trip. It’s unusual for us to cancel a trip due to low numbers but it happens occasionally. If the tour is cancelled by us we would offer a refund.
Our trips are extremely popular with international students and their ages range from 16-85! but the average age being 20-35. All ages are welcome on the trips from families to pensioners. Contact us if you’d like some advice on which trip would be the most suitable for you.
We welcome everyone on the trips. They are popular with students but local people join too! Some come solo, some with friends or family members. The trips are actually designed to get people chatting on the coach with quizzes etc. Most people find that the national parks and castle trips are best for meeting new friends because you can walk and talk with everyone. Also, our guides are very friendly and you are also welcome to hang out with them in the free time should you wish to have some company. See our reviews on trip advisor as many people have found that they feel very welcome on the trips and often attend as many trips as they can!
We’d advise the following trips: Conwy and Llandudno, Castles of Wales, York, Manchester, Anglesey and Snowdonia, Chester or the Peak District.
Please let us know if you are bringing a child under 5 years old. Children under 5 can go free but we need to save a seat and may need to advise the suitability of the trip. Contact Hannah by email hannahw@wearedaytripper.com or WhatsApp +447947661982.
No unfortunately not due to coach restrictions, allergies of other passengers and the potential ‘mess’ on the coach. Only guide dogs allowed and if required, this should be discussed previously with the team so we can advise if the trips are suitable.
Yes, we offer private tours to both our regular destinations and bespoke places such as London, Blackpool Pleasure beach and many more places! Get in touch for a quote/brochure. Our public tours are weekends only but private tours can be any day and you can choose your nearest suitable pick up point.
Public Tours:
Unfortunately not for our public tours, no. We can, however, take wheelchairs in the boot compartment of the coach should the passenger be able to get on and off the coach unaided. We would then recommend our city trips: York, Oxford and Manchester as the National Park trips would generally be unsuitable for wheelchair users. We welcome a conversation with anyone who requires accessibility so we can advise the best procedures. We also have mid-week tours of Liverpool, Chester and Port Sunlight that are accessible by train and on foot around the city.
Private Bespoke Tours:
If the wheelchair user is part of a private group, we can hire a wheelchair accessible coaches for your trip. Please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us for a quote or an initial conversation about your needs. We can then provide bespoke tours which can include places such as the Lake District that have accessible paths and scenic boat tours.
Yes, for the public tours that use a 51 seater there is usually a toilet on the coach should you need it. We also have a service stop on the way if the journey is more than 2 hours long.
Families are welcome on our public trips so any under 16s attending with their parents can book on the public tours.
However, if you are a group of juniors (under 16s with a teacher or group leader) you would need to book a private trip with their group leader/teachers attending along with our tour guides. These trips can be for groups of 12 people or more and the destinations are bespoke (chose where you’d like to go!). Some of our most popular trips for juniors are Conwy and Llandudno, Chester and the Lake District.
We have a 15 minute window from the meeting time e.g. 8:15am to the leaving time e.g 8:30am so we can get everyone registered and counted on the coach. If you are not there by the end of the 15 minutes, I’m afraid you will miss the trip. We do not give refunds for anyone who misses the trip on the day or can’t attend the trip for any reason or cancels within 24 hours of the leaving time.
If you miss the bus on the day – no refunds or transfers will be offered for any reason.
If you wish to cancel the trip within 24 hours of the trip, you wouldn’t be offered a refund or a transfer, but you can still sell your ticket to a friend and inform us of the changes.
If you give us less than 4 days-48 hours’ notice before the trip – you can transfer your ticket to another date or sell your ticket to a friend.
If you give us 4 days’ notice in advance of your trip, we can give you a refund. This extends to 7 days’ notice for a weekend trip to Edinburgh or Bath and Stonehenge.
